Professional dog fence engineered for Kansas wind and ground conditions.

Scope of Work & What's Included

Our approach to dog fence in Gridley and surrounding counties covers every detail from initial property measurement and underground utility clearance through laser alignment and site cleanup:

Yard perimeter inspection, property boundary layout, and Kansas 811 underground utility locates
Excavation and installation of buried anti-dig wire aprons or rigid bottom steel tension rails
Sturdy 5-foot or 6-foot privacy, 9-gauge chain link, or close-spaced puppy picket panel installation
Hydraulic post hole augering 36 to 42 inches deep with bell-bottom concrete footings below frost depth
Heavy-duty framed access gates hung with tight bottom tolerances and lockable escape-proof latches
Complete site cleanup, magnetic fastener sweep, and pet-safety perimeter verification walkthrough

Kansas Ground & Weather Considerations

Pet owners in Coffey County frequently suffer panic when athletic dogs jump short borders, energetic diggers tunnel beneath loose bottom rails, or aggressive dogs break thin pickets barking at street traffic. Nailed builder-grade fencing often separates at the bottom, creating escape gaps. Our engineered dog containment systems eliminate tunneling, jumping, and gate-gap escapes.

Our Proven Installation & Build Process

1
1. Pet Behavior & Yard Assessment: We evaluate your dog's size, athletic ability, digging habits, and property lines to determine optimal height and barrier style.
2
2. Underground Utility & Grade Clearance: Coordinating Kansas 811 locates and clearing fence lines to maintain uniform turf contact without large gaps.
3
3. Deep Structural Post Setting: Sinking posts 36 to 42 inches deep into solid subgrade with bell-bottom concrete footings to resist freeze-thaw heaving.
4
4. Anti-Dig Barrier Integration: Installing buried galvanized wire mesh aprons, bottom tension cables, or concrete-anchored curb lines along the base.
5
5. Barrier Fabric & Rail Mounting: Securing solid privacy pickets with exterior ceramic screws or stretching heavy-gauge chain link fabric drum-tight.
6
6. Escape-Proof Gate Installation: Hanging steel-framed gates with tight ground clearances and installing self-latching, pad-lockable hardware.

Cost Factors & Pricing

Dog fence pricing in Gridley and East-Central Kansas depends on overall linear perimeter, fence style and height (4, 5, or 6 feet), material choice (wood privacy, vinyl, or chain link), anti-dig apron excavation, and gate security hardware. We provide upfront, transparent written quotes.

Permits & Utility Locates

Installations comply with Coffey County setback guidelines, Burlington and Emporia municipal residential fence height codes (typically 48 inches front, 6 feet rear), and Kansas 811 utility clearance regulations before excavation.

Kansas Communities Served for Dog Fence

Our Gridley-based crews provide on-site consultations, underground Kansas 811 utility mark coordination, and complete dog fence across East-Central Kansas:

Coffey County, KS: Our home county: John Redmond Reservoir, Coffey County Lake (Wolf Creek's cooling lake) and Neosho River bottoms mean many fence lines sit on wet, flood-prone ground.
Burlington, KS: Coffey County seat on the Neosho River just below John Redmond Dam; older homes on low ground near the river need posts set for wet soils.
Yates Center, KS: Woodson County seat with a historic courthouse square; aging homes in town and surrounding cattle pasture mean wood privacy repairs inside town and barbed-wire rebuilds outside.
Lebo, KS: Lebo, just off I-35 in northern Coffey County near Melvern Lake, has commuter homes plus farmsteads where split-rail and chain-link line the highway frontage.
Madison, KS: Madison, at the Greenwood County line west of Gridley, is gateway Flint Hills ranch country where pipe fence, barbed wire and corral work dominate.
Olpe, KS: Olpe, south of Emporia on K-99, is surrounded by row-crop and cattle ground; farmstead pens and livestock lots drive woven-wire and pipe fence work.
LeRoy, KS: LeRoy sits in a Neosho River bend southeast of Gridley; small-town lots back onto cropland, so chain-link and woven-wire pet and garden fences are common.
New Strawn, KS: New Strawn was built after the old Strawn townsite was flooded for John Redmond Reservoir; its newer homes sit near Coffey County Lake and Wolf Creek.
Hartford, KS: Hartford borders the Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge at John Redmond's upper end; refuge-edge farms need deer-resistant garden fence and flood-ready posts.
Neosho Rapids, KS: Neosho Rapids sits on the Neosho River between Emporia and Hartford; river-bottom farms see flood debris load fences, so H-braces and steel posts hold up best.

Dog Fence Questions Answered

For athletic breeds like German Shepherds, Labs, or Boxers, we recommend a 5-foot or 6-foot fence. For smaller breeds, a 4-foot fence is standard. Solid wood or vinyl privacy fencing also prevents visual stimulation that triggers fence jumping and territorial barking.

“Brandon with Kraft Fencing went above and beyond to repair my fence that had been broken due to poor design by another company. He answered my call and gave me a quote within a day and was out here two days later. Brandon worked very hard in the hottest part of the day to make sure everything was perfect. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a fence built or repaired. Thank you Kraft Fencing.”

Response from Brandon Kraft (Owner):

“Thanks so much, Gage! Please let us know if you need anything in the future!”

“Casey and Roman Kraft did a cedar fence rebuild for my wife and I in December of '25. Our original fence was over 20 years old and in bad need of replacement. Casey came to my house on a Sunday to measure the property and discuss our plans. He got us the bid that evening. His price was extremely competitive and his reviews online were stellar. The days Kraft Fencing committed to build were the 2 rainiest days in December. There were flash flood warnings posted on both of those days and still, Casey and Roman showed up and went to work. I felt bad but they had top notch rain gear and smiles on their faces. They and their crew showed up at 7:30am both days and just got after the job. The craftsmanship is very impressive. They use screws instead of nails, the posts are beefier than the standard 4x4 post, and they use clear cedar in all the wood work except for the posts. The most impressive thing we experiened with Casey and his company was how he and his crew responded to a mistake that was made. He listened to our concern, gave us a few options to rectify the mistake, made sure both my wife and I would be happy with the work around, and then went about his business and made it right (without any additional charge). What a fantastic business he runs and what an ethical guy he is. I give him a 10/10 recommendation if you are looking to get a new fence installed. Brendan H. Great price”

“Kraft fencing did a great job installing our aluminum fence. It was a big job and a difficult yard to fence, as there were multiple changes in elevation. However, the fence looks great, and it was completed quickly. 10/10 recommend”

Response from Brandon Kraft (Owner):

“Thanks so much, Christopher! I’m so glad that you are pleased with your fence!”
