High-Tensile & Electric Fence installation by Kraft Fencing in Gridley KS
Professional high-tensile & electric fence engineered for Kansas wind and ground conditions.

Scope of Work & What's Included

Our approach to high-tensile & electric fence in Gridley and surrounding counties covers every detail from initial property measurement and underground utility clearance through laser alignment and site cleanup:

Pasture perimeter layout, elevation transit mapping, and Kansas 811 utility clearance
High-tensile 12.5-gauge Class 3 galvanized smooth wire tensioned with inline spring strainers
Driven 2-7/8 inch oilfield pipe or 6-inch treated pine H-brace assemblies at all ends and corners
Commercial Gallagher, Speedrite, or Parmak low-impedance energizers with solar panels and AGM battery banks
Multi-rod deep copper grounding systems engineered for dry Flint Hills rocky subsoils
Complete voltage testing with digital fault-finding fence meters and owner operation walkthrough

Kansas Ground & Weather Considerations

Livestock producers in Coffey County regularly struggle with sagging barbed wire that snaps during winter freezes, calves escaping through loose middle wires, and bulls wrecking pasture dividers. Standard electric fences short out on heavy prairie grass or lose shocking power during dry summer spells when shallow ground rods fail. Our high-tensile systems provide reliable voltage year-round.

Our Proven Installation & Build Process

1
1. Grazing Plan & Boundary Design: We map perimeter lines, interior paddock splits, water access lanes, and gateway crossings for efficient herd movement.
2
2. Corner & End H-Brace Construction: Sinking heavy pipe or treated timber posts 42 inches deep with diagonal brace wires to hold 1,500+ pounds of wire tension.
3
3. Line Post Installation: Driving heavy steel T-posts or fiberglass rods on 20-to-30-foot centers with high-grade UV-stabilized pin-lock insulators.
4
4. Wire Pulling & Spring Tensioning: Stringing 12.5-gauge smooth wire through inline ratchet strainers and compression springs calibrated to 250 pounds.
5
5. Energizer & Ground Rod Installation: Driving three 8-foot copper ground rods 10 feet apart and connecting low-impedance solar or AC energizers.
6
6. Voltage Testing & Fault Verification: Testing line charge with digital voltmeters to verify a minimum 6,000-volt pulse across all pasture sections.

Cost Factors & Pricing

High-tensile electric fencing is one of the most cost-effective livestock containment options per foot. Costs depend on total linear footage, number of wire strands (typically 1 to 6), energizer type (110V AC vs. 20–30W solar kits), and corner H-brace post material selection.

Permits & Utility Locates

Installations comply with K.S.A. 29-105 Kansas partition fence legal standards, Coffey County rural property setback guidelines, and electric safety standards requiring high-visibility warning signs along public roads.

Why Property Owners Choose Kraft Fencing

Kansas Communities Served for High-Tensile & Electric Fence

Our Gridley-based crews provide on-site consultations, underground Kansas 811 utility mark coordination, and complete high-tensile & electric fence across East-Central Kansas:

Coffey County, KS: Our home county: John Redmond Reservoir, Coffey County Lake (Wolf Creek's cooling lake) and Neosho River bottoms mean many fence lines sit on wet, flood-prone ground.
Burlington, KS: Coffey County seat on the Neosho River just below John Redmond Dam; older homes on low ground near the river need posts set for wet soils.
Yates Center, KS: Woodson County seat with a historic courthouse square; aging homes in town and surrounding cattle pasture mean wood privacy repairs inside town and barbed-wire rebuilds outside.
Lebo, KS: Lebo, just off I-35 in northern Coffey County near Melvern Lake, has commuter homes plus farmsteads where split-rail and chain-link line the highway frontage.
Madison, KS: Madison, at the Greenwood County line west of Gridley, is gateway Flint Hills ranch country where pipe fence, barbed wire and corral work dominate.
Olpe, KS: Olpe, south of Emporia on K-99, is surrounded by row-crop and cattle ground; farmstead pens and livestock lots drive woven-wire and pipe fence work.
LeRoy, KS: LeRoy sits in a Neosho River bend southeast of Gridley; small-town lots back onto cropland, so chain-link and woven-wire pet and garden fences are common.
New Strawn, KS: New Strawn was built after the old Strawn townsite was flooded for John Redmond Reservoir; its newer homes sit near Coffey County Lake and Wolf Creek.
Hartford, KS: Hartford borders the Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge at John Redmond's upper end; refuge-edge farms need deer-resistant garden fence and flood-ready posts.
Neosho Rapids, KS: Neosho Rapids sits on the Neosho River between Emporia and Hartford; river-bottom farms see flood debris load fences, so H-braces and steel posts hold up best.

High-Tensile & Electric Fence Questions Answered

For perimeter cattle boundaries, we recommend a 5-strand or 6-strand high-tensile fence with alternating charged and ground wires, tensioned to 250 pounds. For interior rotational grazing or cross-fencing, a 1-strand or 2-strand electrified fence is typically sufficient.

“Brandon with Kraft Fencing went above and beyond to repair my fence that had been broken due to poor design by another company. He answered my call and gave me a quote within a day and was out here two days later. Brandon worked very hard in the hottest part of the day to make sure everything was perfect. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a fence built or repaired. Thank you Kraft Fencing.”

“Casey and Roman Kraft did a cedar fence rebuild for my wife and I in December of '25. Our original fence was over 20 years old and in bad need of replacement. Casey came to my house on a Sunday to measure the property and discuss our plans. He got us the bid that evening. His price was extremely competitive and his reviews online were stellar. The days Kraft Fencing committed to build were the 2 rainiest days in December. There were flash flood warnings posted on both of those days and still, Casey and Roman showed up and went to work. I felt bad but they had top notch rain gear and smiles on their faces. They and their crew showed up at 7:30am both days and just got after the job. The craftsmanship is very impressive. They use screws instead of nails, the posts are beefier than the standard 4x4 post, and they use clear cedar in all the wood work except for the posts. The most impressive thing we experiened with Casey and his company was how he and his crew responded to a mistake that was made. He listened to our concern, gave us a few options to rectify the mistake, made sure both my wife and I would be happy with the work around, and then went about his business and made it right (without any additional charge). What a fantastic business he runs and what an ethical guy he is. I give him a 10/10 recommendation if you are looking to get a new fence installed. Brendan H. Great price”

“Kraft fencing did a great job installing our aluminum fence. It was a big job and a difficult yard to fence, as there were multiple changes in elevation. However, the fence looks great, and it was completed quickly. 10/10 recommend”

Response from Brandon Kraft (Owner):

“Thanks so much, Christopher! I’m so glad that you are pleased with your fence!”
